How to report
You can report a profile, a wishlist, a wish, a photo, a comment or a story in the Giftze app. Tap the “...” menu on it, choose Report, pick the reason that fits best and, if you like, tell us more. The person you report is not told that it was you.
Reports are made in the app, not on this website, so that we can follow up with you and keep reporting safe from misuse. If you are looking at a profile or a wishlist on the website, its Report link opens the app.
What is not allowed
Each topic below matches a reason you can choose when you report. If something fits more than one, choose the closest.
Spam or misleading
Repeated, unwanted or misleading content, such as fake offers, bulk promotion or links that pretend to be something else.
For example: the same promotional link posted under many members’ photos, or a wishlist that promises a free gift card and only leads to an unrelated site.
To report this, open the “...” menu in the Giftze app, tap Report and choose “Spam or misleading”.
Harassment or bullying
Targeting someone with insults, humiliation, unwanted contact or repeated negative attention.
For example: mocking comments left again and again under someone’s photos, or messages that keep coming after the person has asked you to stop.
To report this, open the “...” menu in the Giftze app, tap Report and choose “Harassment or bullying”.
Hate speech or symbols
Attacking or demeaning people for who they are, such as their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, disability or illness. This includes symbols that promote hatred.
For example: a comment saying that people of a certain religion are worth less than others.
To report this, open the “...” menu in the Giftze app, tap Report and choose “Hate speech or symbols”.
Nudity or sexual content
Nudity, sexual acts or sexually suggestive content.
For example: an explicit photo added to a gallery, or a sexual comment on someone’s profile.
To report this, open the “...” menu in the Giftze app, tap Report and choose “Nudity or sexual content”.
Violence or threats
Threatening or encouraging violence against anyone, or showing graphic violence.
For example: a comment telling a member that they are going to be hurt.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.
To report this, open the “...” menu in the Giftze app, tap Report and choose “Violence or threats”.
Suicide or self-harm
Promoting, encouraging or showing suicide or self-harm.
For example: a post that describes a plan to hurt oneself, or that encourages someone else to do it.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.
To report this, open the “...” menu in the Giftze app, tap Report and choose “Suicide or self-harm”.
Child safety (involves or endangers a minor)
Anything that sexualises, exploits or endangers a minor.
For example: a photo or message that sexualises a child, or an adult asking a child to keep their conversations secret.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.
To report this, open the “...” menu in the Giftze app, tap Report and choose “Child safety (involves or endangers a minor)”.
Scam or fraud
Trying to trick people out of money, gifts or personal information.
For example: a message asking a member to pay through a link outside Giftze to “reserve” a gift, or a profile that claims to be Giftze and asks for a password.
To report this, open the “...” menu in the Giftze app, tap Report and choose “Scam or fraud”.
Pretending to be someone else
Pretending to be another person, a brand or an organisation. This applies to profiles and stories.
For example: a profile that copies a friend’s name and photo to ask their followers for money.
To report this, open the “...” menu in the Giftze app, tap Report and choose “Pretending to be someone else”.
Shares private information
Sharing someone’s private information, such as their address, phone number or private photos, without their permission.
For example: a comment that posts a member’s home address, or a private photo shared to embarrass the person in it.
To report this, open the “...” menu in the Giftze app, tap Report and choose “Shares private information”.
Prohibited or illegal items
Asking for or offering items that are illegal or not allowed on Giftze, such as weapons, drugs or counterfeit goods. This applies to wishes, wishlists and photos.
For example: a wish for a counterfeit designer bag, or a photo that advertises restricted medicines for sale.
To report this, open the “...” menu in the Giftze app, tap Report and choose “Prohibited or illegal items”.
Copyright or trademark
Using someone else’s photos, artwork, brand or trademark without the right to do so. This applies to photos, wishes, wishlists and profiles. If you own the work, say so in the details when you report it.
For example: a gallery photo taken from a photographer’s website and shared as your own, or a profile that uses a company’s logo as if it were the company’s official page.
To report this, open the “...” menu in the Giftze app, tap Report and choose “Copyright or trademark”.
Under the minimum age
An account that belongs to someone younger than the minimum age for Giftze. This applies to profiles and stories.
For example: a profile whose bio says that its owner is younger than the minimum age.
To report this, open the “...” menu in the Giftze app, tap Report and choose “Under the minimum age”.
Something else
Something else that breaks the community guidelines, or that worries you and fits none of the reasons above. Please tell us what happened in the details, so that we can review it.
For example: behaviour that makes you feel unsafe and is not described anywhere above.
To report this, open the “...” menu in the Giftze app, tap Report and choose “Something else”.
What happens after you report
Every report is reviewed. We look at the content, its context and the reports we have received, and we decide whether it breaks these guidelines.
If it does not, nothing changes. If it does, we may do one or more of the following: hide the content while we look into it, remove it, send the member a warning, restrict what they can do for a time (for example posting or messaging), suspend their account for a time, or close it. We consider how serious the problem is and whether it has happened before.
Content can also be hidden while it is being reviewed, before a decision is made. While it is hidden, only the person who posted it can see it.
We tell the member what we decided and which guideline applies. We never tell them who reported them. You can follow the status of your reports in the app (Settings > Privacy and safety > Your reports). To protect everyone’s privacy, we do not tell you what we did about the other member.
Blocking
Blocking is separate from reporting, and you can do either or both. When you block someone, they can no longer follow you, message you or comment on your content, and you will not see each other’s posts. They are not told that you blocked them.
You can block someone from their profile or from the report sheet, and unblock them at any time in Settings > Privacy and safety > Blocked accounts.
Asking for a review
If we hide or remove your content, or restrict or suspend your account, we will tell you why in the app. If you think we got it wrong, you can ask for a review there (Settings > Privacy and safety > Account status > Request a review). A different member of our team looks at your request. If your account has been closed, contact Support.
